It was the last meet of the year for our Cross Country Teams and our athletes did it right!

The State Qualifier is a “5k only” and finished with more than half of our entrants getting NEW PERSONAL RECORDS and 3 of our Senators QUALIFIED FOR STATE !

For the Varsity girls,  Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson finished in style, recording her best time ever in the 5k and securing a spot in THE STATE XC MEET! Kelsey had 4 Top Ten Finishes this year and this will be her Third trip to the State XC Meet.

For the Varsity Boys, the exciting competition between Jr. Seth Graham and Soph, Jake​ R​ussell continued as the two finished just 1 second apart … BOTH in NEW PR times! It was Seth though, who managed to finish on top and score ANOTHER Top Ten Finish for himself, edging Jake into 11th. However BOTH runners advance to this Saturday’s STATE XC MEET!
This was Seth’s 6th Top Ten Finish of the year, with his best being a 3rd at the Fairview Invitational. Jake collected 4 Top Ten Finishes this season, his best being a 5th at the Fairview Invitational. For both athletes this will be their first trip to the big show!

Finishing their season with NEW PRs were Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson, Sr. Kyle A​nde​rson, Jr. Seth Graham, Soph, Jake​ R​ussell, Steven Underwood, Katrielle Wu​lff, and Hailey Brown, Fr, Elijah Vargas, 8th graders, Mary-Frances Burch, John-David Ray, Muhammad Shafi, and Isaiah Vasquez.

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country teams on their 2nd place, TEAM finish at the James Clemons “Last Chance Invitational”!

This meet featured ONLY the 5k distance but our runners put on a good showing for a combined, 3 Top 10 finishers and 9 NEW PERSONAL RECORDS!

The Varsity girls had a Team 5th place (just 3 points out of 4th) led once again by Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson who scored another top 10 finish.

For the Varsity Boys, the competition for “Top Finisher” is really heating up! Jr. Seth Graham came in 7th with Soph, Jake​ R​ussell finishing in 8th – just 4 tenths of a second behind him!

Getting a new PRs this week were Jr, Brandon Curry,  Soph, Katrielle Wu​lff, Fr, Jake Maier, Fr, Elijah Vargas, 8th graders, Mary-Frances Burch,  Makayla Tomaino, Kyler Waters,  Muhammad Shafi, and Isaiah Vasquez.

Congratulations to our Sparkman runners on their performances in this years “Metro Area, Cross Country Championship“!

With individual Top 10 finishes by 8th grader  John David Ray and Freshman Elijah Vargas The JV Boys secured a 3rd place, Team Finish ! Additionally, John David Ray‘s 11:21.6 finish in this 2 mile run was a NEW SPARKMAN RECORD!

8th grader Mary-Frances Burch set a NEW SPARKMAN RECORD in the JV Girls 2 Mile with a time of 13:20.6 ! She and Freshman Makayla Tomaino both scored individual Top 10 finishes in this division.

Also setting a NEW SPARKMAN RECORD was Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson. Kelsey ran a 20:41.4 in the Varsity Girls 3 mile.

For the Varsity Boys it was Jr. Seth Graham with a top 10 finish and NEW SPARKMAN RECORD in the three mile!

This was the first action for our teams after taking Fall Break, and though the competition was tough our Boys Varsity team managed a 5th place, TEAM finish at this weekend’s “St. Bernard OCTOBERFEST Invitational” !

The JV Boys team finished 6th with  Fr, Jake Maier being this week’s top finisher.

In the JV Girls division, it was 8th Grader Mary-Frances Burch AGAIN finishing with an individual Top 10!

Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson continues as the leader of our Varsity Girls team but this week it was 10th grader’s Katrielle Wu​lff and Haley H​addock scoring finishing with NEW PR’s!
For the Varsity Boys, Jr. Seth Graham was again our top finisher, while Freshman Elijah Vargas scored a NEW PR.

Congratulations to our JV Boys Cross Country teams on their 2nd place, TEAM finish at this weekend’s “Arab Inv​itational”!

7 members of the JV Boys squad set new personal records with 8th grader John David Ray finishing with an individual 3rd place and Freshman Elijah Vargas finishing 6th!

In the JV Girls division, 8th Grader Mary-Frances Burch added another top 10 finish to her record as she and Makayla Tomaino BOTH set personal records in the 3200m distance.

The Varsity girls had a good showing with Sr. Kelsey Joh​nson scoring another top 10 finish.
For the Varsity Boys, Jr. Seth Graham was our top finisher, coming in 7th and Jr., Bailey Herfurth, finished in 9th. The Varsity Boys finished with a team, 7th place.

Getting a new PRs this week were Jr, Seth Graham and Soph, Haley Haddock in the 5k and in the 3200m – Fr, Jake Maier, Fr,Michael Fulda, Fr, Elijah Vargas, 8th graders, Isaiah Vasquez,  Adam Thomas,  John David Ray and Ryan Edwards. 7th graders, Isaac Thomas and Ryan Wilson.
