JUST 12 DAYS!

It is just 12 days (for some, just 11) until the State Section qualifying meet!

What are you willing to do for 12 days? What is it worth to you to go to state?
An extra lap at the track? Another half hour of jumps or throws when others have gone home? Maybe you skip that bag of chips or do an extra set of push-ups before you climb into bed … and then when you get up in the morning?

Just 15 days. What are you willing to do?

A full week of Senator Track Action!

Track season is now half over for 2013!

Only 4 Varsity meets remain before the State Sectional qualifying meet and only 2 JV meets remain before the N.Alabama JV Championships. So, I hope everyone is finding time to work out some during Spring Break and will be ready to really work hard to make their best mark!

Weather permitting (*rolls eyes*) we will be starting back with a FULL week of track following the break!

This Monday, April 1st, the Varsity Team will be traveling to Cullman for the postponed “Cullman CLassic”.

TUESDAY April 2nd is JV meet #4 at James Clemens HS, located on County Line Road.

We finish up the week Saturday April 6th with the Scottsboro Invitational.

Go Senators!!

The Panther Invitational, Our Season has begun!

Our season has finally gotten underway and we already have a bunch of NEW PRs and THREE new School Records !

In a warm but extremely windy Milton Frank Stadium we put in a good first showing.
For the Boys, Ben Dailey captured 2nd in the polevault with a height of 11’6″ and set a new PR in the Javelin with an 8th place throw of 133-1.

For the Girls, Brianca Trammell raced for a 3rd in the 100mH with a NEW PR time of 17.27 ! She also scored a NEW PR with a time of 52.98 in her 8th place finish in the 300mH !
8th grader Gabrielle Griner also managed a points winning 8th place in the Pole Vault.
Cicely Seldon was another of our PR athletes. Her new mark of 97-10 was enough for a 6th place finish in the Discus.

…and those new school records ???
Ben’s new PR in the Javelin was also a SCHOOL RECORD!
In the 1600m run, Anthony Parameswaran set a new mark with a time of 4:59.55 !

Kelcie Johnson got on the record board for the girls, fielding a mark of 28-8 in the Triple Jump.

Good going Senators!
