This weekend’s Cross Country meet is the Scottsboro Invitational
(Please note the REVISED START TIMES below).

The weather looks great for what may be a record number of entries. As of today they show 1,415 runners from 49 different schools. Sparkman had a good showing at this meet last year, with our JV boy’s team placing 2nd!

When: Saturday, September 14, 2013. Races begin at 8:00 am.

Where: John R. Esslinger Trail of Champions, on the campus of Scottsboro High School,
On U. S. 72 East, on the right just past the Wal-Mart shopping center.

Course: Mostly gravel with some asphalt. Medium difficulty with some hills.

Awards: Trophies to the top 2 teams in each division. Medals will be awarded to the top 10 individuals in each race. The top 2 finishers will receive an additional award.

• 8:00 Junior Girls (7-9) 2.1 mi.
• 8:30 Junior Boys (7-9) 2.1 mi.
• 9:00 5A–6A Girls 5K
• 9:40 5A–6A Boys 5K.
• 10:20 1A-4A Girls 5K
• 11:00 1A–4A Boys 5K
• 11:20 Awards

(Athletes should arrive 1 HOUR prior to their race!)
